To State BP Guildmasters, St George and State Trefoil Guild Advisers
Copy to members of NAGFA Executive committee
17 May 2014
At the Executive meeting (16 February 2014) a motion was passed “that the NSGFA actively seek a suitable member to nominate as a candidate for election to the World ISGF Committee.”
As the deadline for forms to reach ISGF Brussels is 11 May 2014 we apologize for late notice and ask for your help to ensure that any one you feel may be suitable, or interested, in such a position – receive this information ASAP?
Being a member of the ISGF World Committee (WCom) is a serious commitment that involves hard work. On the other hand it gives you the satisfaction of contributing to a worldwide organization for adults which is becoming a powerful agent for the promotion of Scouting and Guiding, the good of the community and the cause of peace and international understanding. Barbara can provide more detail regarding the travel involved to any interested member.
Attached are Circulars 04A and 04B which have an explanation of what is entailed in membership of the World Committee and a nomination form (See circular 04B for extras/attachments required). The forms also will be downloadable from http://afofsag.webs.com/ in a week or two.
ISGF has drawn attention to the 6 year term as respect to a candidate’s age. Also the need to be available and pro-active, to have skills in the action fields, and that knowledge of the international environment which is essential to properly carry-out the WCom actions.
As a letter of recommendation is required from the NSGFA, the completed Circular 04B must sent to NSGFA Executive, with attachments to the NSGFA Executive by 18 April 2014 The potential candidate needs to understand they may be required for interview.
